Man from Cherokee among four indicted under Operation Take Back America

U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson announced on Wednesday, Aug. 6 that a number of individuals are facing federal firearms and immigration charges under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to protect our communities from perpetrators of violent crime, repel the invasion of illegal immigration and achieve total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs).

Services are expanding at Tsali Care Center

Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority (CIHA) has announced the expansion of its Rehabilitation Department to include services at Tsali Care Center. Effective the week of January 20, 2025, CIHA’s Physical Therapy, Wound Care, and Orthopedic Clinic will assume the rehabilitation services for residents of Tsali Care Center, ensuring access to high-quality, in-house care.

RUNNING: Lossiah signs with Haskell Indian Nations Univ.

Another member of the highly-decorated men’s cross country team at Cherokee High School (CHS) is going to run at the next level.  Anthony Lossiah, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, signed a letter of intent to run collegiately for Haskell Indian Nations University during a ceremony at the Charles George Memorial Arena on the morning of Monday, May 8.  He will run cross country and track.

Carolyn was born June 27, 1958, in Commerce, Ga. to the late Waymon Cain and Johnnie Sue Patrick Hill. Carolyn was a homemaker and spent her life providing a home and life for her family. She married the love her life Charles Wolfe in 1982.
