The month of January, while slow on events, has proven to be a busy month for planning and working towards long-term goals for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI).
Presidential Task Force on Missing and Murdered American Indians and Alaska Natives officially launches
Federal government officials held an official meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 29 to launch a task force to tackle the generations-long issue of missing and murdered American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Tribal Court Docket for Feb. 5
This is a criminal docket date for the Cherokee Tribal Court. All of the defendants listed have only been charged with the crimes/offenses listed and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Museum offering workshops on feather capes, traditional fabric twining
The Museum of the Cherokee Indian will offer three workshops on March 12, 13, and 14 at the Museum, on making feather capes, twining, and recreating an ancient Cherokee skirt.
Museum offering Cherokee Trail Guide training
The Museum of the Cherokee Indian will offer training for EBCI tribal members who want to become certified as guides for the Cherokee Heritage Trails.
