Cherokee Nation reaches milestone of 400,000 enrolled Cherokee citizens
The Cherokee Nation on Tuesday, Sept. 28 enrolled its 400,000th tribal citizen and continues to process a historic record number of citizenship applications.
Tribal partners to hold “Eat Well, Play Well, Stay Well” event in Cherokee
The first Play Well, Eat Well, Stay Well event is planned for Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (or until all bags are gone) and will be a drive-thru swag bag giveaway and raffle at 688 Drama Road (Mountainside Theatre area drive-thru) in Cherokee.

FOOTBALL: Braves’ comeback falls just short in season opener
The scoreboard may not have reflected it at the end, but the Braves’ season opener against Tuscola at Waynesville Middle School on Friday, Aug. 22 was a success for Cherokee. They played well and put together a nice fourth quarter comeback that fell just short as they lost 35-28.
