Tribe receives grant for Little Free Libraries
Abbott Owle, an 11-month-old member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, grabs a copy of “We love you Moms and Babies” from the Little Free Library at the Dora Reed Qualla Boundary Head Start/Early Head Start Center on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Cherokee Central Schools committed to remaining open

The WNC Honors Awards is built on a 68-year-old tradition of recognizing rural community development clubs for their innovative ideas and grassroots solutions. Several communities of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians were honored recently by the organization which covers 15 North Carolina counties and the Tribe.
