Newfound Gap Road trike motorcycle fatality
Great Smoky Mountains National Park rangers responded to a trike motorcycle accident on Newfound Gap Road approximately 9 miles south of Sugarlands Visitor Center on Friday, Sept. 9, at approximately 11:04 a.m.
Park hosts Medal of Honor recipients in Cades
Great Smoky Mountains National Park welcomed Medal of Honor Recipients and their families to Cades Cove on Thursday, Sept. 8. Park staff and volunteers provided a guided tour for the delegation of approximately 60 participants to enjoy the scenic beauty of Cades Cove along with special programs.
EBCI increases minimum wage to $15/hour for tribal employees
Principal Chief Richard G. Sneed announced on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 8 that the tribal government of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) is raising the minimum wage of tribal employees to $15 per hour effective Oct. 1.
