CCS School Board holds May meeting
The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) met on Monday, May 6 in the Central Office Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 4:44pm by Chairperson Jennifer Thompson.

COMMENTARY: How do you fix a constitution?
I have reviewed the proposed constitution thoroughly and I am unclear as to exactly how changing this constitution will work. I will lay out what I understand to be the process and pose several questions.
SPEAKING OF FAITH: Do we know the end from the beginning?
“Today, my Assignment is to start with the end and then go to the beginning, and finish with Verse 4,” stated, Pastor Tim. So, I’m going to read the verses but we’re beginning with verse three, and will work our way back up to verse one today.

CROSS COUNTRY: Swimmer takes second at SMC Middle School Championships
Dvdaya Swimmer, a seventh grader at Cherokee Middle School (CMS), took second place at the Smoky Mountain Conference Middle School Cross Country Championships held at Cherokee High School on the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 16.
FOOTBALL: Braves double Rosman for second win of season
After falling behind early, Cherokee kept moving and grinding and ended up doubling Rosman 42-21 in a win at Ray Kinsland Stadium on the evening of Friday, Oct. 4.
CROSS COUNTRY: Cherokee Middle School teams run in County Line Challenge
The Cherokee Middle School (CMS) cross country teams participated in the County Line Challenge at the Tsali Recreation Center in Almond on the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 2.

However, keeping perpetually vigilant is a daunting task; we may drop our guard and allow satan to attack.
OBITUARY: Gene Rowland
Gene Rowland, 74, of Cherokee, went to Heaven to be with his girls on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of Rowena Rowland of Cherokee and the late Ed Rowland.
