We are in great need of an overhaul of government protocol. I am not talking about the people who fill the seats of our elected posts.

We had dogs of our own, but we started to notice that there were a lot of stray dogs and dogs along roadsides that looked to be homeless and/or abandoned

There are 30 miles of fishable streams on the Qualla Boundary. Those streams have been here for as long as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Water is not just a commodity to us. It is spiritual. It is a source of life. It is a resource for the continuation of the Tribe.

When it comes to crosswalk safety on the Boundary, the Tribe and Department of Transportation have made significant progress over years past.

Recently, there has been much discussion in the Cherokee community about crabs – not the kind in the ocean, but the kind who drag others down.

The wife and I use an app (short for application-you know, those little do-dads on your phone that make life “interesting”) called Life360. It basically will pinpoint the location of my phone for her, and vice versa, any time of the day or night.
