The mother of three Cherokee children who kidnapped them and took them to Mexico has been sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of International Parental Kidnapping.

A Cherokee Tribal Court judge has denied a preliminary injunction against nine representatives of the Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
