On Thursday, Nov. 12, 4-8th grade students of the Cherokee Language and Culture Program at Smokey Mountain Elementary School went on a day long adventure in Tennessee.

Cherokee Elementary School held a Christmas Performance in the Cultural Arts Center on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

Students from six area high schools met Thursdya, Dec. 3 at Cherokee Central Schools for the WNC EdNET Student Technology Advisory Council Fall Conference.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, Cherokee Middle School’s 4-H RezBot teams competed in the FIRST LEGO League’s Western North Carolina scrimmage at Southwestern Community College.

The Cherokee Youth Center, in celebration of Native American Heritage month, held an Intertribal pow wow for its members on Friday, Nov. 20.

The new Cherokee Central Schools complex has received an award for its design and construction principles.

Sam Lambert hosted local veterans in his classroom on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
