Another World Series of Poker Circuit Event at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort came to a close on Monday, April 27, and the top prize in the final event went to Ryan Jones, of Burlington, who took home $205,804. Not only did Jones win a big chunk of change, but he also earned a seat in the July National Championship Series to take place in Cherokee in July.
Big crowds continued to swarm the Event Center for this 6th WSOP event at Harrah’s Cherokee, which continued its record-breaking tradition with 1,237 participants in its Seniors event. Event #4 on April 18 saw 2,937 participants, an increase of nearly 1,000 entries from the previous year’s event.
Two additional players won over $100,000 each at the final table, and the total prize pool for the 13-day Circuit stop was over $4.9 million.
Coming up this summer at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort is the National Championship Series July 23 – Aug. 2, plus a full schedule of buy-in and qualifying events. An official WSOP Gold Bracelet and a share of $1,000,000 in guaranteed prize money is on the line.
