Michelle Annette (Mathis) Wilnoty, 54, of Anne Arundel Co. Maryland and previously of the Birdtown Community of Cherokee passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the University of Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.

Michelle was the wife of David Bernard Wilnoty of Cherokee and the home.  She was the daughter of the late James Mathis and Anna Lee (Crowe) Mathis.  Michelle attended Yellowhill Baptist Church when able and had volunteered in the past at the Living Waters Lutheran Church.  She was a waitress all her working life.  She was a huge Cherokee Braves Fan and cheered hard for the Lady Braves!

Along with her husband, Michelle is survived by a daughter, Corina Lynn (Otter) Zell and two step-daughters, Stephanie Dawn (Wilnoty) Wiggins and Clarissa Lynn Wilnoty both of Cherokee; two brothers, Jamie Mathis of Cherokee and Donald Mathis of Gastonia; a sister, Freddie Burns of Maryland; eight Grandchildren; and many other family members.

Michelle was also preceded by a sister Rosanna Barnes.

Michelle will be taken to the Yellowhill Baptist Church on Friday, May 13 for a visitation from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.  A funeral service will start at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eddie Marrow officiating.  A burial will immediately follow in the Yellowhill Cemetery with Pall Bearers being among the Family and Friends.

Long House Funeral Home assisted the family in the final arrangements.
