EBCI Housing and Community Development, along with QHA, held their 8th Annual Housing Fair, Friday, June 26, celebrating Home Ownership Month. The fair was a huge success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of the Housing Fair Committee and numerous volunteers from both HCD and QHA.

With 20 vendors offering an array of services, as well as some workshops for Mold, Home Maintenance & Electrical hosted by QHA. Meadows Homes, DJ’s Mobile Home Services, Sam’s Club, Wells Fargo, 1st Tribal Lending, Amerind Risk, Partridge Construction, USDA Rural Development, First Citizens Bank, Belfor Property Restoration, Freeman Gas, Power Home Technologies, Poppens Electrical, Cherokee Home Center, Lowes, Justin Wright Builders, Carolina Furniture Concepts, BIA- Realty and Survey, HCD Rehab Program, HCD Site Prep.

Both Housing Programs had staff construct two storage buildings on site to raffle to two lucky winners.  The raffle raised $2,306; which was equally divided and donated to the Cherokee Boys Club- Children’s Home and EBCI Family Safety Program and Transitional Housing, which supports children and families.

The grand prize winners of the storage buildings were Evelyn Locust and Robert Jumper.

Everyone enjoyed free food Catered by Granny’s Kitchen, and music by Sound of Music, Todd Kent. We had great feedback from previous vendors stating, “This was by far the best housing fair yet!”, and new vendors stating “They will most definitely set up again next year.”  Thanks to all who came out and we look forward to seeing you next year!
