Waiting for him on the other side were his parents William Catolster and Sally Johnson. Also preceding Abel in death are three brothers, Guy Miller Catolster, Spade Catolster and Alec Catolster; three sisters Nannie Catolster, Lucy Catolster Riley and Bessie Catolster; nephew Roger David Axe Long and great-nephew Will Catolster.
Abel is survived by his niece, Waggie Sneed; three nephews and their wives, Wilbur George Long, John J. Long and Donna, Garfield Henry Long Sr. and Gail; Abel Catolster, 86, of Cherokee celebrated his homecoming on April 1, 2015.eight great-nephews and their wives, Garfield Long Jr., James E. Long and Angela, Delbert Ross and Sherry, Charlie Welch and Margaret, Eugene Long and Shannon, Farrell Oocumma and Tina, Marty Catolster and Eddie Catolster; great-nieces Dinah Grant and Nellie Catt; ten adored great-great nephews and nieces, Maggie Welch, Teresa Long, Sadie Long, Hunter Welch, AJ Terry, Skye Corbett, Emily Welch, Wyatt Corbett, Cody Long, Mason Long and great-great-great niece Mayleigh Long.
Abel’s humbleness and kindness touched many lives but most of all his loved ones will miss his smile.
A visitation was held Friday, April 3 at Long House Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 3pm. Burial will follow at the Long Family Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Delbert Ross, Farrell Oocumma, Charles Henry Welch, James E. Long, Timothy E. Long and Garfield Long Jr. Pastor Noah Crowe will officiate.
