The issue of religious differences as the cause of the world’s troubles
has plagued this country since our beginning.
In 1792, U.S. President George Washington wrote the following:
“Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind those which are
caused by a difference of sentiments in religion appear to be the most
inveterate and distressing and ought to be deprecated.”
The country should continue to consider his words when certain groups or
sects are trying to push their religious beliefs on this country.
