The Cherokee High School Lady Braves golf team finished its season with five girls competing at Reigonals.

Devona Reed, Cherokee Middle School, took second place at the area Middle School Cross Country Championship meet on Monday, Oct. 10 at Hiwassee Dam. She posted a time of 14:09.2.

A total of 62 participants came out for the 2nd Annual Chief’s Challenge mile run on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

The Swain Maroon Devils (7-1) rushed for 420 yards on Friday night (Oct. 7) as they defeated Cherokee (3-5) by the score of 49-7 in their yearly rivalry matchup.

The first half of October will concentrate on training for the Marine Corps Marathon that takes place on Oct. 30.
