62 participate in 2nd Chief’s Challenge event

CHEROKEE CHOICES

 

                A total of 62 participants came out for the 2nd Annual Chief’s Challenge mile run/walk on Tuesday, Oct. 4.  Thirty-four (34) of those were runners ranging in age from 6 to 50 years and older.

               Chief Hicks participated in the event, and before the start acknowledged the honor and memory of Madison Hornbuckle who wanted everyone to strive to stay active and healthy.  He also recognized all participants by sincerely thanking them for their involvement in the event.

                The proceeds from the event go to the Madison Hornbuckle Children’s Cancer Foundation.    

                “Cherokee Choices would like to thank the Preservation Foundation, volunteers, and all others who helped make this event possible,” Cherokee Choices officials stated.
