Kituwah, LLC holds ribbon cutting for Big Peach Car Wash
On the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 30, members of Kituwah, LLC met with the founders of Big Peach Car Wash to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new location on Cherokee St. in Kennesaw, Ga. Kituwah, LLC has majority ownership of the Big Peach Car Wash in Kennesaw, sharing ownership with Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr.

The Center for Native Health receives $30,000 Stewarding Native Lands Grant
The Center for Native Health recently received a $30,000.00 grant from the First Nations Development Institute of Longmont, Colorado. This award will support the efforts of The Center for Native Health’s ᎢᏯ ih ya: EBCI Youth River Cane Project.
EBCI Cooperative Extension gives Annual Garden Contest awards
The 2023 EBCI Cooperative Extension Office’s Annual Garden Contest awards were given on the evening of Monday, Sept. 18 at the Yellowhill Activity Center. The contest judging occurred in the second week of July.

COMMENTARY: What will it take?
The purpose stated in the Charter for the census is to ensure that the tribal communities (six) have equitable representation on Tribal Council. The census is supposed to determine the respective voting weight of each Tribal Council seat.

Jaylynne Esquivel, a member of the Cherokee High School cross country team, took second place in the girls race at the Smoky Mountain Conference championships held at Kituwah just outside of Cherokee on the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Phyllis Ann Lambert Tomlinson, 77, of Cherokee, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, after an extended illness in Haywood Regional Hospital.

Kevin Robert Blaine Wahnetah, of Cherokee, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Gainesville, Ga. at the age of 35 after battling a brief illness. Born on Dec. 2, 1988, he is the son of Sandy Welch and Tom Wahnetah (Clara).
