About 100 gallons of fuel spill into river
Diesel fuel leaked into the Oconaluftee River from the Cherokee Mini-Mart underground storage tanks over a month ago. The leak occurred on April 2 and was discovered a day later.
Man bitten by Copperhead during Day of Caring
The EBCI Public Safety Communication Center received a call at 11:51am on Thursday, May 14. A female reported a male had been bitten by a Copperhead.
Suspected diesel leak into Oconaluftee River
On April 2, there was a suspected release of diesel fuel leaking into the Oconaluftee River by the Cherokee Mini Mart underground storage tanks (USTs).
