Dedication ceremony held for Greenhouse Facility
The Native Plant Nursery Facility, which opened in July 2014, was officially named the Jessie Owle Dugan Native Plant and Greenhouse Facility during a dedication ceremony held on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 26 at the 2,200 square foot facility, which includes a 2.2 acre grow yard, in the Birdtown Community.

Nael Ali, 53, of Albuquerque, NM, pled guilty in federal court on Wednesday, Oct. 18 to violating the Indian Arts and Crafts Act (IACA) by selling counterfeit Native American-style jewelry out of two retail jewelry stores located in Albuquerque’s Old Town.
Tribe to file lawsuit against opioid distributors
In August, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians declared the opioid crisis a public nuisance. Now, the Tribe is filing litigation on the matter.
