Cherokee schools, state schools closed until May 15
North Carolina public school students will be out of school for at least two more months due to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Coronavirus prompts WCU to postpone May commencement ceremonies
In response to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, Western Carolina University is postponing all spring commencement ceremonies originally scheduled for May 8 and 9, and will announce by April 3 plans for rescheduling the events.
Taylor sentenced to 46 months for assault of tribal elder
U.S. District Judge Martin Reidinger sentenced Jonathan David Taylor on Thursday, March 19 to 46 months in prison and three years of supervised release for the May 2019 assault of a tribal elder

Missing beloved pet
