The Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) passed Ord. No. 369 (2022), which will allow for the creation of the General Welfare Exclusion (GWE) Program.

Sneed, Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), thinks that all three federally recognized Cherokee tribes should be represented by a delegate or delegates in Congress.
