Remembering the fallen: Cherokee holds Memorial Day Ceremony
A gentle breeze blew over the Cherokee Veterans Park as over 100 people gathered to honor the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Steve Youngdeer American Legion Post 143 held a Memorial Day Ceremony on the morning of Monday, May 29.
CHS graduates largest class in school history
A total of 98 Braves and Lady Braves crossed the stage in Ray Kinsland Stadium during the Cherokee High School Commencement Ceremony on the evening of Thursday, May 25 marking the large graduating class in school history.
Circle of Security program looks to equip Cherokee parents
Anatta Harding was desperately looking for some help while she and her son were adjusting to a move to Cherokee. More than anything she was trying to find a Circle of Security program, a guided group that focuses on improving ‘the development pathway of children and their parents’. COMMENTARY: What should we do with the elk?
During EBCI Community Services program reports last week, Natural Resource Enforcement (NRE) reported that out of 908 total calls for the previous reporting period (typically a month), 123 calls were requesting help with elk. That is roughly 13.5 percent of all call activity for that period being elk related.
