There’s an amendment on your ballot (North Carolina state election) that would require everyone to have a photo ID in order to vote.  Sound like a good idea?  It’s not.  If you vote for this, you’re buying “a pig in a poke.” 

Although to make law, the election year has been shortened to begin January; we are now within 12 months of our tribal elections.

On the Swain County ballot in November, the last item on the second page says “Swain County Local Sales and Use Tax – Local sales and use tax at the rate of one-quarter (.25%) in addition to all other State and local sales and use taxes.”
