Cherokee Tribal Court Report for the week of Jan. 28th

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe is hurting after an ice storm has rendered all of the reservation, located in northern South Dakota, without power.

The Cherokee Fun Park property, one of the first sites visitors see when they enter Cherokee through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, has sat dormant to the point of falling into disrepair. That will change soon as a world-renowned theme park development firm is planning to reopen the Park.

One complaint many visitors have when visiting Cherokee is that it is hard to walk around town. The Cherokee Pedestrian Transportation Plan, developed by a committee and Greenways, Inc., may help correct the problem.
