R. Steven Rice, 53, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 25, 2016.
He was born Aug. 3, 1962 in Macon County.
He worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Cherokee and Snowbird Youth Centers as a Development/Fundraising Officer. He moved to Choctaw, Miss. to open Clubs for the youth there and ended his career with B&GCA in North Central Georgia.
His goal in life was to work with and help children and families.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Linda Rice; brother Phil Rice and Sandi; and sister Joan Welch and Jeff; three nieces, MeLisa, Britany, and Katie; two nephews, Christopher and Jacob; and special friends, Sam and Helga.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 30 at the Clarks Chapel Methodist Church. Donations can be made to the church and family, Ralph & Linda Rice 754 Lake Emory Rd Franklin, NC 28735.
