ROBBINSVILLE – The Robbinsville Black Knights scored 28 second half points to top the Cherokee Braves 35-14 on Friday, Oct. 26. EBCI tribal members Spencer McCoy and Cruz Galaviz led the Black Knights.
McCoy scored on runs of 1yd and 4yds and Galaviz gained 110 yards on 18 carries.
Cherokee’s Logan Woodard scored the only points for the Braves as he returned an interception 47 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter and ran 75 yards for another score in the third quarter.
On the night, Woodard gained 103 yards on 19 carries.
The Braves gained 197 yards on the ground and 54 in the air for 251 total yards of offense. Robbinsville had 259 on the ground and 100 in the air for a total of 359.
Each team had two turnovers.
Cherokee travels to Murphy on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:30pm for the first round of the NC 1A state playoffs.
