Sydney JacksonSydney Marie Jackson, 21, of the Jackson Branch Community in Robbinsville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2014. She was born in Jackson County and was the daughter of Leland and Jeannie Jackson Welch of Robbinsville.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Clarence Jackson. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Amiyah Collins; her sisters, Stephanie Bridges and Shelby Jackson, both of Robbinsville; her brothers, Freelin Welch of Cherokee, Shane Welch of Robbinsville, and Freeman Welch of Florida; her maternal grandmother, Betty Jackson of Robbinsville; her special aunt, Donna Jackson of Robbinsville; her aunts and their husbands, Michelle Jackson Stamper and husband, Ed, of Cherokee, Mary and Dennis Pilkington of Fontana Dam, and Wanda and Larry Blythe of Robbinsville; her uncle, Clarence Jr. and Maureen Jackson of Robbinsville; nieces, Tayen, Tylie, and Tacey Bridges and Ansley Jackson; her nephew, Tavok Bridges; several aunts and uncles; and her longtime companion, Cody Collins of Whittier.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, Sept. 19 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at the Jackson Family Cemetery on Jackson Branch Road. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
