Deborah Jones of the Club’s Child Care Department retired on July 25 after 15 years of child care service.  The staff of Agelink celebrated her last day with a luncheon in the conference room of the School Age building.

Jasper Wolfe, school bus and truck driver for over 12 years, celebrated his last day with the Boys Club on July 31.  The Bus and Truck Department hosted a farewell luncheon for Jasper at the Boys Club complete with barbeque and all that goes with it!

Allan Oocumma, bus and truck department manager officially retires Sept. 12, but he will be on annual leave until that time.  Allan’s last day at the Club was also July 31.  Albert Arch is currently the acting manager for the Bus and Truck Department.

The Boys Club appreciates the loyal service of these employees and wishes them the best of luck in the future.

The Boys Club staff is saddened by the recent passing of “Granny Emma” Walkingstick.  Granny Emma was a foster grandparent at Agelink for 22 years.  Agelink closed on Thursday so that the staff could attend her funeral.  Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Boys Club’s school buses are back on the roads again as Cherokee Central Schools started Thursday, August 7.  Pay attention to stopped school buses and please watch out for the children as they load and unload the buses each day.  If you have any questions regarding bus routes, please call the Boys Club 497-9101.
