It is with these words from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that the family of, Jayda Elizabeth Dugan Toineeta, can thank God for helping us through one of the most difficult times of our lives. God blessed us with twelve years of time with Jayda. Although she battled the disease, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Jayda created many fond memories for us to remember her by.

Most memorable is that big beautiful smile Jayda would greet everyone with, and the “I love you” she would leave one with.  Jayda’s love for the Lord was a ministry in itself. Her faith in God blessed us and helped us through the darkest hours we had to face. Her favorite songs, “I Call It Home” and “Thank You Lord” tell us where her heart was, and where on April 21, 2014 Jayda would finally come to find healing, rest, and peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior.  When anyone did something for Jayda, she always had a “thank you” and “I love you” for that person. With that, we want to thank God for the many wonderful people and organizations that helped to make a heavy load easier to bear.  Words cannot express our appreciation and gratitude for the helping hands and the love shown to Jayda and her family as she made her journey to be with the Lord.

Thank you to : Pastor Greg Morgan, Brother Bo Parris, Rock Springs Baptist Church family and Choir, Long House Funeral Home, Yellow Hill Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church on Cooper’s Creek, Noah Washington and Wolf town Free Labor, Councilman Bill Taylor, Tribal Construction, CBC Printing, Zena Wolfe, Peanut Bowman, Kristin Moore, Jill and Casey Cooper, John and Val Tissue, Dean and Gabe McMillan, Cherokee Indian Hospital Staff,  Oconaluftee Indian Village, Nehi and Reva Toineeta, Veronica “Fats” Toineeta, John and Cathy Dugan, Sis Cabe, Jesse and Scott Queen, Nurses and Doctors of Mission Hospital Pediatrics and Respiratory Therapy Staff, Cherokee Indian Hospital Governing Board and Executive Team, Cherokee EMS, Cherokee Fire Department and Volunteer Fire Department, Sargent Carla Neadeau and Cherokee Police Department, Swain County Schools, Pall Bearers for Jayda, friends and family who brought food, sent flowers, sent cards, gave monetary donations, or sang a song.  Most of all we thank God for our brothers and sisters in Christ who were praying and in touch with our Heavenly Father on our behalf. When we could not pray for ourselves, we knew others were.

We also want to extend a special “Thank You” to the many wonderful people who made Jayda’s last year with us extra special by building “Jayda’s Play House”.  They raised money for the materials and put in many long hours building, painting, and making it special for her.  It was delivered to her on Christmas day in 2012 and she loved it!  God knows who you all are and will bless you for making our little angel so happy. Jayda was HIS child then and is in HIS care now.

Our prayer for all is that God will bless you abundantly and always surround you with His love and care.
