Brock Squirrel, 23, of Cherokee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2014. A native of Swain County, he was the son of John Frederick Squirrel and Vickie Kay Owle both of Cherokee. Brock was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Irene Squirrel Martin, and Helen Enloe Owle.
In addition to his parents, Brock is survived by one brother, Robbie Squirrel of Cherokee, and his nieces and nephews Gabby, Gavin, Cameron, Alana, and Braylon Squirrel. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Bob Owle.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, June 1 at Bethabara Baptist Church with the Reverends Bo Parris and Eddie Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow at the Bob Owle Cemetery. A visitation is planned beginning at 4pm, Saturday, May 31 at Bethabara Baptist Church, where Brock will remain until the hour of service on Sunday.
