BRYSON CITY – Tommy Lynn Burch, Jr., 57, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. A native of Tennessee, Tommy spent over 30 years of his life in Graham and Swain Counties. He was the son of Laverne Mitchell Burch Crawford of Bryson City and the late Tommy Lynn Burch Sr. He was a Minister and Pastored Churches in Elizabethton TN at Moores Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and in Bryson City at Sawmill Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He graduated from The Freewill Baptist Bible College (Welch College) with a B.S. degree in Pastoral Administration and also an E.T.T.A. Teaching diploma. He also worked for Swain County West Elementary School for 12 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Wesleyan Church.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Rebecca Crowe Burch; two children, Jason Burch of Waynesville, and Elizabeth Burch McCurry of Marion, NC; one grandson, Nash Leeson Ward; one sister Patricia Sebree of Utah, and two half-sisters, Becky and Gail.
Funeral Services were held on Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Joshua Householder, Jimmy Lambert, and Percy Cunningham officiated with burial in Cornerstone Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
