Justin David “Bird” Pheasant – obituary

Justin David “Bird” Pheasant, aka, “Pheezy” 22, of Cherokee passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 9, 2012. He enjoyed playing stickball and had been playing since he was 8 years old.  He was a member of the Wolftown Stickball Players and was looking forward to the games at the upcoming Fall Festival.  He also loved his truck which he fondly nicknamed the “Pheezy/Mobile” and enjoyed cruising around in it. Justin was a tattoo artist and enjoyed this as a hobby.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Pheasant; his paternal grandmother, Elnora Pheasant; paternal great-grandparents, William and Leona Bird,  Driver Pheasant Sr. and Nettie Pheasant; maternal grandparents, Keith and Phyllis Martinez; maternal great-grandparents, Spade and Lucinda Catolster and Maggie Largo.

He is survived by his companion, Ayena Jane French and unborn child; his mother, Patricia Garcia; stepfather, Salvador Garcia; special daughter, “Josi”; brothers, Alex Garcia of Cherokee, Dylan Pheasant of SC; sisters, Chelsea Martinez, and Danielle Reed; special brothers and sisters, Tim Hull Jr., Emma Hull, Gavin Kalonaheskie, and Keonta Ardery; paternal grandfather, Perry Pheasant; aunts; Rhonda Pheasant, Angie Hull and husband Tim Hull, Sr.; uncles, Star Pheasant, Keith Martinez, Jr. and Benjamin Martinez; great aunts, Stacy Rogers, Rebecca Poz-Chalacha, Emmaline Kalonaheskie, Sally Sampson, and Betty Catolster of Macon, Ga.;  great uncle, Tim Catolster; and also surviving is his God Mother, Thelma Tramper.

The family received friends at Rock Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday Sept. 11.  The body remained at the church until 10am on Wednesday, Sept. 12, when it was taken to Old Antioch Church for the funeral service at 11am.  Burial followed at the Long Branch Cemetery.

Pastor Greg Morgan and Pastor Denny Crowe officiated.  The Pall Bearers were members of the Wolftown Stickball Players, Honorary Pall Bearers will be, Dylan Pheasant, Alex Garcia, Timothy Hull, Jr., Cameron Locust, and John Adam Walkingstick.
