Mother’s Day 5K attracts 180 participants

     The Mother’s Day 5K, held Saturday, May 12, attracted 180 participants with 82 runners and 98 walkers.

    “Cherokee Choices would like to extend a big thank you to all the volunteers: 7 Clans Dialysis Center, EBCI Travel & Promotion, Cherokee One Feather, Cherokee Bottled Water, Steve Youngdeer American Legion Post 143, Oconaluftee Job Corps, Laura Smith, Dee Smith, Jan Smith, Tonya Carroll, Sam Otter, Mark, Roho Maples, EBCI Facilities Management, EBCI Rec. Dept., CDOT, Transfer Station, CIPD, Cherokee EMS and EBCI Transit,” said Cherokee Choices staff.  “And, Cherokee Choices would also like to thank all the local artists and businesses that donated to the silent auction.”

Clement Calhoun came in first place in the Male 50+ category.
