On the cold, windy day of Wednesday, April 21, the Cherokee High School (CHS) track was full of sprinters, distance runners, and throwers getting ready for a new season.

The Cherokee Lady Braves varsity softball team is building a team spirit and getting better with each outing.  

The Smoky Mountain Competition Cheer Club has continued to excel in wins over the past few weeks. The cheerleaders represent Jackson, Macon, Swain, Haywood counties in North and Rabun County Ga.  Participants range from 4-18 years of age, both boys and girls.

With a dominating performance at Andrews, the Cherokee Middle School Lady Braves finished their 2021 season undefeated and won the Smoky Mountain Conference championship.

Athletes are always chasing rings and one member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) is chasing five in the form of the Olympic rings. 

I believe that all fan allowances should be based on a percentage of the venue capacity rather than a set amount for each event.  

Each and every game, she is a field general at point guard, but she does so without screaming or unneeded emotions.
