WCU mourns the loss, celebrates the legacy of Chancellor David Belcher
The Western Carolina University community is mourning the loss of Chancellor David O. Belcher, who died Sunday, June 17, at the age of 60 after a more than two-year battle with brain cancer.

CHS Wrestling Team makes History
Wearing solid black uniforms bearing the seal of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians on the back, the Cherokee varsity wrestling team made history on Thursday, Jan. 28 as they became the first in school history to qualify for the State Dual Team Championship.
CMS Wrestlers 1-1 on week
The Cherokee Middle School wrestling team went 1-1 on the week as they defeated Hayesville 60-30 on Wednesday, Jan. 20 and then lost to Robbinsville 54-24 the next day.
