Congressman Meadows visits Cherokee
Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) visited Cherokee on Friday, March 22. During his stay, he met with Tribal Council, visited the Cherokee Central Schools and attending the grand opening event for the $650 casino expansion at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

Ground was broken on the third hotel tower for Harrah’s Cherokee on July 10, 2009. That event marked the beginning of the $650 million expansion which is now complete and culminated in a grand opening event on Friday, March 22.

Native HIV Awareness Day celebrated in Cherokee
“Native Americans have the third highest rate of HIV in the U.S.,” read a placard at an event hosted by Cherokee Community Health at the Acquoni Expo Center on Thursday, March 21 to celebrate Native HIV Awareness Day.
