Pattie Sue Bradley, 43, an EBCI tribal member of Cherokee, was sentenced on Thursday, May 19 to 120 months in prison for killing her husband

The Cherokee Indian Police Department (CIPD) partnered with the western North Carolina chapter of MADD and the N.C. State Highway Patrol to conduct multiple checking stations on the Qualla Boundary on Saturday, May 14.

The Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee, Inc., a state-recognized tribe in Georgia, does not meet the criteria for federal recognition according to a notice posted in the Federal Register on Friday, May 13.
