Last month, I competed in the USA Track & Field (USATF) Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships in Albuquerque, NM. I placed 30th overall. There were 345 runners from all over the country.

I would again like to extend my sincerest appreciation to the Board of Directors, the President, and all of the donors of the Yogi Crowe Scholarship Foundation for their dedication, hard work, generosity towards higher learning, and their commitment to making a difference within the Cherokee community.

Among Native American males enrolled at Southwestern Community College during the 2012-13 academic year, 40 percent left the college without graduating.
