WAYNESVILLE – Cherokee junior, Tysha Sampson, carded a 94 to lead the Lady Braves against Highlands on Thursday Sept. 25 at the par-72, 5,932-yard Waynesville Inn – Golf Resort & Spa.
Sampson struggled on the front-nine Carolina course but found her game and came back strong to fire a career best, 42, on the back-nine Dogwood course. Team member Bree Stamper finished 7 strokes back with a 101 to take second, while Peri Wildcatt shot 102 to finish third. Kyndra Wiggins shot 115 to round out the top-5.
Other Lady Braves scorers included: Naomi Swimmer-Bryant 116, Tika French 116, Blake Wachacha 118, and Riley Crowe 120.
The Lady Braves return to action today, Tuesday Sept. 30 for a match hosted by the Highlands Highlanders at the Highlands Country Club where the team looks to build on their post-season aspirations.
