The Cherokee Youth Council visited the University of Tennessee this week to discover the culture represented on campus. The trip included a tour of Neyland Stadium the Thompson-Boling Arena, a lecture in Cherokee anthropology and fish weirs, a visit to the McClung Museum, and a special visit to the historical mound and Cherokee traditional plants garden right on campus. “Our youth discovered many special opportunities available at the University and they enjoyed seeing their tribe represented there,” said Sky Sampson, Cherokee Youth Council program manager.
