THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS
The Boys Club extends sincere sympathy to the friends and family of Jim Hornbuckle who passed away Monday, May 19th. Jim and his wife, Suzanne, served as some of the first house parents for the Children’s Home from 1972 to 1982.
Our condolences also to the friends and families of Solomon Dane Bradley who passed away on Tuesday, May 20 and to the friends and family of Clayton Perry Crowe who also passed away on May 20.
We are also sorry to learn of the passing of Kytston Drayk Saunooke, infant son of Micala Arch and Dylan Saunooke, on Wednesday, May 21. Our sympathy goes out to this family.
Please keep all of these families in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
Friday, May 30 is the last day of school for Cherokee Central School students. There will be an early release at 11:30 a.m.
GET WELL WISHES
Club employees Robert Lambert and Cris Weatherford are recovering from knee surgery and back surgery respectively. Please continue to remember Jerry Sherrill and Mark Littlejohn as well as Ray Kinsland who has been under the weather recently. We wish them all a full and speedy recovery.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to all the students who had entries in the recent art shows at the School. We have some very talented students!
Congratulations also to the Band Students and Band Director for an outstanding musical performance on May 15.
Congratulations to all of the students who received awards last week from the Chief and from Tribal Council and congratulations to the athletes who were recognized at the Athletic Banquet on Friday, May 23.
Finally congratulations to the Cherokee High School Class of 2014 who will be graduating Saturday, May 31 at 6p.m. at the football field. A baccalaureate service will be held Friday, May 30 at the Joyce Dugan Cultural Arts Center. A slide show will begin at 4:30p.m.; dinner at 5p.m. and then the service beginning at 6p.m. The Boys Club will also honor these students with a breakfast on Friday morning.
