Curtis Gentry Cooper, Jr., 86, of Cherokee passed away on December 30, 2011 at Tsali Care Center following an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Birdtown Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis G. Cooper and Lona Parker Cooper of the Birdtown Community, a sister, Joann Lambert, and a niece, Eva Cooper.
He is survived by his sisters, Maxine Hyde of Cherokee, Pauline Fisher of Cookeville, TN; brothers, Harry, Kelley, and Richard Cooper, all of Cherokee; nieces, Loretta Cooper, Judy Fisher, Tammy Holzsclaw, Vicki Payne, Cindy Wilkerson, Lisa Young, Donna Long, Kathy Rose, Renee Cooper, Tina Hyde, and Michell Cooper; nephews, Tommy Cooper, Jackie Cooper, Mike Fisher, Clint Hyde, Dennis Lambert, Curtis Cooper, Jeff Hyde, and Terri Cooper.
The funeral service was held on Monday January 2, 2012 at 2 PM at the Long House Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Sherrill officiating. Burial followed at the Drama Cemetery. Pall Bearers were family and friends.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
