Pearle Sherrill Reagan – obituary

Pearle Sherrill Reagan entered the pearly gates of Heaven on March 11, 2016 after a brief hospital stay at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Burke and Dora Queen Sherrill. Pearle was born and lived in the Qualla Community most of her life. She was a member of the Olivet Methodist Church where she served faithfully. Pearle loved to sing and was a member of the Acquoni Chapel Choir for several years.

After graduation from high school, Pearle worked for the Government preparing telephone codes for all branches of the military to use during WWII. Upon returning to the Qualla Community, she married John Reagan and they began a family. Pearle and John provided a home for several foster children. She worked many years in food service and retired to take care of her flowers and her family.

Pearle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and a sister. She is survived by her daughters, Jerri (Ray) Kinsland, Rita (Dewey) Owle, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, special grandson, Ben Powell, and many foster children and foster grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Acquoni Chapel on Sunday, March 13.  Rev. John Ferree and Rev. Ed Kilgore presided and burial was in the Sherrill Cemetery.
