Charles Richard Ollis – obituary

Charles Richard Ollis, 72, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Earl and Eloise Grant Ollis. He was a member and trustee of Harmony Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman. He loved woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen Monteith Ollis; one daughter, Megan Smoker of Bryson City; two grandchildren, Baylen and Airowen Smoker of Bryson City; one brother, David Ollis and wife Lucille of Bryson City; and many aunts and cousins who have supported him through his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, Dec. 15 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Tony Cochran, Lowell York, and Mike Cogdill will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the funeral home.
