Donna Sue West, 73, went home to be with her Lord Monday evening May 12, 2014 at her residence. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Donnell and Ollie McLeod. She loved cooking at Tsali Care Center and taking care of her family.
She was the greatest friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother you could have. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Cleve Sexton and her sister Bernice Rattler.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Johnnie Ray West; two daughters, Lori Hanks Huglemaier of Raleigh and Cathy Hanks of Sylva; four sons, Thomas P. Hanks (Adele) of Franklin, WV; Frank L. Hanks of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; James R. West II (Debbie) of Cherokee and John Ray West II (Barbara) of Cherokee; 14 grandchildren and eight 8 great grandchildren.
The family is receiving friends from 6-10pm on Wednesday, May 14 at Yellowhill Baptist Church.
