Joshua Adam (Parker) Oocumma, 25, of Rutherfordton, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2014 in Union Mills. Known to his friends and family as Adam, he had been residing in Haywood County shortly before a move to Rutherford County.
Adam is the son of Curtis Parker of Cherokee and Teresa Smith of Union Mills. He was the spouse to Jordan Oocumma of the Wolftown community in Cherokee and had roots in the Baptist faith.
Adam is also survived by brothers, Clinton R. Parker of Rutherfordton, Dakota S. Parker of Marion, John Parker of Polk Co.; sisters, Kim Gibson and Becky Scott, both of Rutherford Co.; other close relatives identified as, Eddie Parker of Cherokee, Robert Parker of Gastonia, Jimmy Parker of Rutherfordton, Shelley Brooks and Sharon Parker of Rutherfordton.
Adam was preceded in death by his Pa Pa Ed Parker; grandmother, Earlene Parker; grandmother, Helen Lapage; great-grandfather, John A. Lambert and great-grandmother, Sallie Lambert.
The family of Adam will meet in the chapel of Long House Funeral Home at 12pm Saturday, May 10, 2014 for a short gathering and will leave to the graveside at 1pm for a short graveside committal at the Birdtown Cemetery.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family in the final services.
