Marianne (Bigmeat) Ervin, 60, of Selma,passed away on April 8, 2014 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center following an extended illness. Marianne is a native of Cherokee and is the daughter of the late John Bigmeat and Suzannee Teesateskie.
Marianne is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Bigmeat and one sister, Margie Bigmeat Gilbert.
Surviving are children, Pamela Smith and husband Christopher of Winterville, Melissa Stephenson and husband Ken of Four Oaks, Priscilla Ervin of Springfield, Ohio and Stanley Ervin of Selma; two brothers, Jacob Bigmeat and Moses Bigmeat; grandchildren, Adrienne Ervin, Serenity Stephenson and Gavin Smith, along with six other grandchildren who affectionately called her ‘Nanny’; and special friend, Freddy Sanders.
A visitation was held on Saturday, April 11, 2014 at Long House Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Sunday, April 12. Burial followed at the Blythe Cemetery with friends and family among the Pall Bearers. Pastor Jimbo Sneed officiated.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
