cuthbertson, kenneth (media)Kenneth “Kenny” Cuthbertson, 76, of Morganton and Bryson City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.  Born in Burke County on June 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Wilson Edgar Cuthbertson and Ruby Irene Mull Cuthbertson.  Kenny was a life-long member of Glen Alpine First Baptist Church.  He owned and operated Western NC Fur Company, several gift stores in Cherokee, and the Cherokee Inn.  He was an avid golfer, was a fan of UNC, enjoyed getting together with his family, and loved his dog, Baby.

Kenny is survived by the love of his life, Blanche Orders Cuthbertson; sons, Craig K. Cuthbertson and his wife, Catherine, of Bryson City and Brad W. Cuthbertson of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dustin and Dillion Cuthbertson; sisters, Lenada Williams of Bostic, Margaret Curtis of Greensboro, and Winn Fernandes of Plymouth, Mass.; nephews and nieces, Kim W. Hollifield, Brooke C. Urmann, Stephen Curtis, Jake Fernandes, and Andrew Fernandes; and his step-mother, Sadie Cuthbertson of Plymouth, Mass.

The funeral will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Dennis Maples officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2pm prior to the service.
