Charles John “CJ” Hornbuckle, 21, of Cherokee, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at his father’s home in Cherokee.
CJ is the son of Charles Allen Hornbuckle and Nannie (Taylor) Hornbuckle of Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by one uncle, Marvin J. Taylor, and one aunt, Rose M. Salazar.
Along with his parents he is survived by two sisters, Victoria L Sinion and Ernestine “Rose” Hornbuckle; three nephews, Jose Salina, Martin James Arteaga, Ernest Leroy Locust; uncle, George Polecat of Stillwell, Okla.; great great uncle, Jim Bigwitch; Godfather, Antonio “Tony” Salazar and many, many Cousins.
A very special note is that he will be missed by all that loved him and that includes his special pet, a golden retriever, by the name of “Duke Boy”. God Bless you all.
A visitation was held at the Macedonia Church on Friday, Oct. 18 till the hour of service on Saturday, Oct. 19. Brother Dan Conseen officiated the formal funeral service with an immediate burial following in the new CJ Hornbuckle Cemetery near the family home. Pall bearers were among the friends of the family.
