Bertha Johnson Chiltoskie, 76, of Cherokee went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 after an extended illness. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Rachel Bradley Johnson. She was a member of the Cherokee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Chiltoskie; and her son Elliott Chiltoskie; two brothers, Harold Bradley, and Pete Johnson; and two sisters, Sally Allison, and Alta Johnson.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Arch; numerous nieces and nephews; children, Debra Chiltoskie Standingdeer, Henry Alton Chiltoskie, Kim A. Chiltoskie, Tim B. Chiltoskie, and Wyatt Chiltoskie; 12 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren all of Cherokee.
A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, Oct. 19 in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11am – 12pm Saturday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bertha Chiltoskie’s name at Mountain Federal Credit Union.
